Our mission:
Save the church

Formed in 2019, Tunbridge Lutheran Church Preservation Society is comprised of former church members and descendants of members who have worked diligently to restore the church structure, support and maintain the Tunbridge  Lutheran Cemetery, and promote cultural activities on the church premises.
Work started with replacing the roof, repairing major structural damage, and repainting the exterior. In the summer 2020 repairs continued, windows were sealed, and exterior painting completed. In 2021 the steeple was repaired/rebuilt and volunteers refurbished and cleaned interior spaces.
In 2023 new railings were installed on the front steps, protective panels were placed over the stained glass windows, and old paneling was peeled off basement walls.

In late Fall 2024/Spring 2025 the church sanctuary was repainted from ceiling to floor and exterior paint touched up. The final major project is renovating the church basement so it can be used to host activities.
Since renovations began, the church has been used for family reunions, weddings, funerals, and special church services. In July 26, the Society will host its first major public program — Tunes & Tastes at Tunbridge — with live music, food, and games. Freewill donations will support basement repairs.
